International Women's Day 2012---Celebrations

 Glimpse of Women’s Rights Awareness Seminar
Day March 11, 2012

Hope for Suffering Humanity (HSH)
an NGO in Faisalabad, Gojra, Pakistan
March 11, 2012, 1:00PM to 3:00PM

The seminar was started with prayer by Mrs. Zulfiqar, Mrs. Reena  Kashif (Coordinator Women’s Development, HSH) welcomed the honorable chief guest Mr.Percy C Das & Mrs. Sarwat C Das (Principal of City School, CEO of fit for life Center) and all other participants. Then she presented an introduction to HSH and its activities regarding Women’s Development. Then she invited first speaker Ms. Afrana Karmat. 
SmileMs. Arfana  Karmat (Teacher-B.A., B.ED.) said that,  Most of our population resides in villages. The first problem which the village women face is that they are treated very harshly by their husbands, fathers and brothers. They have no freedom of thought, speech, expression etc. They are confined strictly to their homes.  
SmileAfter the speech of Ms. Arfana Karamat, Another speaker, Ms. Maria Younas (Teacher) was invited on the stage to speak about the topic “A Woman Should sincere with woman”   Ms. Maria said that Pakistani women can achieve their goal by joining hands together and motivating each other.
SmileAnother speaker Ms. Saima Johnson spoke about the discriminatory laws and customs participated in our society. In some places their rights are supported by law, local custom, and behavior, whereas in others they may be ignored or suppressed.  She said that the government should eradicate the discriminatory laws and customs.  
Finally the chief guest (Mrs. Sarwat C Daas) of the seminar delivered her speech about “Women’s Rights and their Importance”. She said that there is no difference between Human and Women’s Rights both are same but women are being affected by the discriminatory laws. She said that women need to take part in the struggle made by the NGOs and Civil Society to achieve their rights and change the situation of women in Pakistan.
